About the Speaker
Ricardo Jorge Bessa is an IEEE Fellow and the Coordinator of the Center for Power and Energy Systems at INESC TEC. His primary research interests focus on the intersection of modern technologies and power generation, specifically:
- Renewable energy forecasting
- AI for energy systems
- Smart grids
Ricardo brings a wealth of expertise and recognition to this session. He was the recipient of the prestigious Energy Systems Integration Group (ESIG) Excellence Award in 2022. He actively contributes to the scientific community as an Associate Editor for IEEE Data Descriptions, the Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, and the International Journal of Forecasting. Furthermore, he is a former Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy.
