On July 13, IEEE Portugal successfully hosted the second Extended ExCom & Chapters Summit, an important event that brought together representatives from various Portuguese Organizational Units (OUs), officers, and ExCom members. The summit aimed to enhance collaboration and create a unified vision among the participants. The event was held at the Instituto Superior Técnico Campus Taguspark, providing an excellent environment for the attendees.

Throughout the day, each representative had the chance to present their planned activities for the latter half of 2024. The agenda included a welcome and institutional thanks, followed by a review of completed activities, particularly highlighting the MELECON 2024 conference. The discussions then moved to upcoming initiatives, covering key areas such as Leadership Camp, M.Sc. awards, and the Engineering Day.

Each Organizational Unit and chapter presented their specific plans and goals for the upcoming months, providing a comprehensive overview of the diverse projects and activities within IEEE Portugal. The summit also included sessions with focusing on student branches (SB) and chapters, highlighting their role and activities. A lunch break offered an opportunity for informal networking and discussions. The afternoon session introduced TryEngineering.org and related activities, aimed at engaging and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
