On July 15, IEEE Portugal successfully held the second Extended ExCom & Chapters Summit, a significant event that brought together representatives from various Portuguese Organizational Units (OUs), officers, and ExCom members. The purpose of the summit was to facilitate collaboration and foster a unified vision among the participants. The event was hosted at the esteemed Department of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics, located within the premises of the University of Aveiro, providing a conducive environment for the attendees.

Throughout the summit, each representative member had the opportunity to present their planned activities scheduled for the latter half of 2023. The agenda also included discussions on crucial topics such as operational and management activities, as well as strategic initiatives aimed at amplifying the impact of the chapters’ activities. A dedicated session on conference organization was also held to address related matters effectively. Additionally, a workshop centered on ideation events was conducted, with a focus on preparing for the upcoming IEEE Melecon 2024, an event organized by IEEE Portugal, scheduled to take place in Porto.

The organizers expressed sincere gratitude to the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics – University of Aveiro, whose gracious hosting and seamless organization played a pivotal role in the success of the summit, providing a rewarding and enriching experience for all participants.
