The IEEE Portugal Section is pleased to introduce its Executive Committee members in the first episode of “Meet the Team”. This initiative aims to bring the IEEE Portugal Section closer to its community by showcasing the individuals behind the organization’s success. In this episode, we had the honor of interviewing Rodolfo Oliveira, Catarina Reis, Margarida Trigo, Diogo Martins, and Carlos Ferreira.

The Executive Committee plays a vital role in managing the Portugal section, fostering connections with various Portuguese organization units, and organizing events and activities that have an impact in IEEE Portugal members. Each member brings a unique perspective and expertise to the team, making it a cohesive and dynamic group.

Rodolfo Oliveira, Chair of the Portuguese Section, is motivated to attract more volunteers to support the organization’s mission. The main goal is to make IEEE as attractive as possible to members and ensure its continuity and growth, while continuing the work of the previous executive committee.

Catarina Reis and Margarida Trigo, Vice-Chair of the Portuguese Section, focus on supporting chapters, maintaining connections with members, and organizing events and activities.

Diogo Martins, Secretary of the Executive Committee, is responsible for bridging the gap between student members and researchers or professionals, maintaining strong connections with members, and ensuring the success of conferences.

Carlos Ferreira, Treasurer, handles financial interactions within IEEE Portugal Section, ensuring compliance with tax regulations for conferences and events, which are essential parts of the organization.

During the interview, each member shared their journey with IEEE, from how they first discovered the organization to their motivation for applying for their respective positions. Their passion for contributing to the mission of IEEE and making a positive impact on the Portuguese community was evident. The IEEE Portugal Section is committed to supporting its members academically and professionally, providing networking opportunities, access to resources.
